New Ibanez BTB 705Dx fresh from Namm!

As soon as my local Long and Mcshaft can order one, I'm soo getting one! Black hardware! no smoked chrome! AND EMG DC's!

This specimen was pulled from 7 string .org, and resides in Germany...

That looks very similar to my BTB1305e. Different color and you have a battery door that doesn't require a screwdriver (a novel concept!).

Looks like the same cord lock jack too.

Mine has Bart pickups to boot.

Very nice bass. I'm loving mine.

I can't believe for all these years I have been writing and wishing everywhere I could find a btb 5 piece neckthru 5- string bass with active EMG double humbuckers with the VARI MID III 18v 3 band eq preamp and here it is, that's awesome! I want one that's all wenge wood with gold big gotoh machine heads and gold mr4 mono rail bridge and with 2 active EMG MM5CS double humbuckers instead of the 40dc's , but good enough I'll say, thanks IBANEZ!

Agreed... i sold my btb 6 because of the bart 1s mostly but also the dull sounding wood combinations, but LOVED the varimid 3 and build quality and amazing design choices.

I also prefer nt although mine had an excellent neck.joint.

Eh, not really. My BTBs have never sounded like my Spectors. A lot of the Spector sound is in the resonance of the maple & their unique active circuit.

Its a shame these basses never took off. I had the red 4 string version, but sold it on account of it being a 4 string.(I'm a 5 string player, and just can't get used to 4 string basses anymore.)
Man was it a beautiful bass though...Still kicking myself for selling her. the finish looked like red leather! I was saving up for the 5 string version, and they just disappeared! IMO the best BTB Ibanez ever came up with!
