New Ibanez Mode series

OK, I'm going to second the opinion that they are ripping off Sire. Looks like an SR Premium cheated with a newer Sire and had puppies. Did they get rid of the horrendous indented output barrel jack? Looks like they just used the pre from one of the upscale pre models, so nothing new there. Have to wait and see what they weigh, how the finish is, and of course how the new body affects the sound. Lastly, will they have a fretless version?

I'd be more interested if it was just a passive J bass. Definitely will keep an eye to see if they tend to be in a good weight range.
Same here

I love Ibanez, but I hope they see enough to put out something like this in the $300-500 range. A basic, passive or minimal EQ J-bass (string spacing and pickup placement), but lighter and with a 1.5" nut akin to skinny J-bass necks. If I could get "J-bass lite" from them I might even pre-order one!!:roflmao:

Can anybody link me to the page where you're checking the specs?
Literally the only web pages in search results about the Ibanez Mode is this thread. Whoever the vendor was has locked away their product pages.

OP didn't post a link to the vendor's page, only screenshots. So we have no idea where the pics came from.

Any specs you see are wishful thinking or provided by an AI that had no actual info to quote from so it strung something together that fit an algorithm.

Perhaps they are using this forum as a focus group, to just test out reactions to some concept basses they came up with?

If they are, I request an additional dial, that I can turn to make me sound "good." Might need a quantum preamp to do that.

They were very briefly on American Music Supply's website. When I visited this morning they would show up when you searched for them by name but when you clicked on any of the links they would give a file not found response.

They still appear when searching:

It looks like they updated their database too soon, and removed the items afterwards.

I screengrabbed these while comparing the specs of the different tiers. iirc one was the 1000, one was the 1606

They look great!

The excessive knob comments are hilarious. I bet people thought the same thing when the Fender Jazz came out and it had the audacity to have TWO volume controls (and if we’re going way back, two tone controls as well). The nerve of some companies…these actually remind me of MTD more than anything.

I welcome the always in the circuit tone control. All active basses should have them as it makes for dialing the highs in or out significantly easier. Not that I need another bass, but I’ll give these a good play when they hit the stores.
