New Ibanez Mode series

Looks to me like a nod to Elrick rather than Sire. I’m willing to wager that these are going to be terrific basses. Very nice to see the upgraded preamp being used, a full time tone control is choice from a gigging perspective.

Lol why the bad faith? I said it was from American Music Supply, didn't bother with links and took screenshots because I knew it'd get taken down. Ibanez catalog for 2026 should be released this weekend, according to people on the Sevenstring forum
I think they look great in that video.
I wonder how these tuners are gonna compare to res-o-lites as far as the weight goes.
I just know that 5 is gonna be wider than I like. Probably 18mm at the bridge which might be ok since the saddles can move. 19 would be a total deal breaker. 17.5 or less would be ideal.
I wish they would just make an SR intended to sound more Fenderish. The Nordy loaded ones get close. I've got noiseless Jazz Bars in an SRMS805 as my main bass right now.
I like the body shape on these better than an SR.

Interesting new basses. I only think Ibanez always makes some strange choices when it comes to finishes.
Also think the many knobs make it overly complicated and make it look over the top for a jazz bass.
But curious how the Mode models will sound and if they are single coil hum free.

Pretty good tone, perhaps superior to the SR line. Does not appear like it's going to be quite as fast-playing but if it has better tone, well, it's a winner at this price point.Here’s the news page from Ibanez!

No more multi-part necks. Too bad, but at least they got rid of the recessed "crap jack."
But damn, no fretless.
I find the knob layout pretty intuitive. Big knobs are the passive circuit. Small knobs are for the preamp.
Nut width is cool, I can cut the 18mm down with the adjustable bridge, neck is a bit wide for me, but i might be able to adjust. Id probably prefer 35", but my 34" Ibanez basses have great B strings.
The ramp is nice touch.
I'd like to try one.

Nice body. Like white pearl. Good string spacing. Roasted neck is rad. As had been said, too many knobs. Also too many frets. Goofy headstock.

What so special about that one compared to the other ones? Seems to me that the wood is the only difference? Does that justify the huge price difference?
