New Ibanez SR1400's ?

Hello, does anyone out there have a new 2011 Ibanez SR1400 series? Whether it is a 5 string or 4. Either the maple top or ovangkol top.

Just saw these in a catalog, am curious to hear a review and how people are enjoying them. (Sound, feel, tonal options etc..)

They will probably hit the store around May or June. There may be a few who have them now but I highly doubt it.

Talking to my guy at Sweetwater. He said June probably for the 1400 models and August for the 1200s. With the date so far out though he said it is kind of unpredictable.

I'm interested in one of these...I have SR1005 and have thought for a while that a bolt-on with single coils, maple/mahogany of the same construction value would be a great bass.

1400 would be 4 string. Their 5 string basses always end in a 5 (or at least, most of the time)

Does anyone have any hands-on experience with these? Gonna hit up my local music shop as soon as I can to try one out if they have it.... GASing BIG TIME for one of these. They look beautiful!

I have an SR 1405E premium and it is hands-down the best bass i've ever played. The most versatile tone and bang for the buck the best bass you can buy! 10 out of 10!!! I will probably sell about half of my bass collection because this sounds and plays much better than my high-ends. Feel free to ask any questions, i'll try and get some pics of it in a day or so, The flamed maple looks AMAZING fyi.

Good review... I just wish the would have included more sound clips. Then again, from what I've read this is a VERY versatile bass, so there would be a lot of clips if they were going to showcase the variety of sounds it's evidently capable of.

I second that! I got the 1405 only because there isn't a 1406 and I don't like the look of the 5006. Definitely the best bass i've ever played!

The Nordstrand equipped Ibanez I have played a few times really sounds more modern than Jazzlike to my ears. The guy in that review said they sound like a Jazz on steroids. I think that description is much more accurate for th new Grooveline series.

Doc you're killin me. I have bad GAS for the G105 and you keep saying things that make me want it more.

I think a lot of lower end Ibanez basses sound like Jazz basses without any of the Jazz character. So honestly, a break from the jazz bass sound would be welcome on these higher end models.
