New Iron Ether Pedal: QF2 analog multi-band distortion

Matt Dean, I just sold mine a few days ago. I prefer warm and organic overdrive and this pedal does just about everything but that. It's great at what it does, but be clear that it is a distortion/fuzz pedal and NOT an overdrive pedal. It was great for adding some top end grit without losing bottom end or for an all out fuzzy sound or some nice crunch, but when I wanted some warm creamy drive, I just could dial that in. That's my $0.02.

I'll second that. The QF2 doesn't give me fat low end like the TFR, Oxide and others, but it probably cuts through the mix better because of that.
I was getting a bit disillusioned with the sound of it soloed but I recently discovered the joys of dialling back the frequency controls and giving it more drive and volume, which adds some beef back in.
I'm dying to try it out in a band mix again.

Nah, the last time I had it, I sold because I bought a DHA VT-twin preamp. I have been listening to some tracks my band recorded and just had them really mastered. I was using the QF2 on several of those tracks and it just sounds great. PLUS, I am running a different head that takes dirt really differently (better I think).
Also,I was working on a parallel set-up but am questioning whether I can dedicate so much space on a size restricted board. The QF2 doesn't quite get a parallel sound, but it does offer a very flexible sound. Plus, I have some ideas for the exp controlled frequency shift, and I could use the gain boost.
Round 3, begin.
I have definitely been into revisiting some pedals lately. I have been SO picky about dirt lately too. I think the QF2 is the last stop before I switch to only using the B3K. More likely if the QF2 doesn't make the cut, I'll upgrade to a B7K. I have faith in the QF2, it offers a lot.

Question for those who've played both the Oxide and the QF2...

On the Iron Ether website, I'm liking the sound clip for the Oxide "Industrial" tone.

Can the QF2 duplicate that sound exactly? If so, it would be nice to have the rest of what the QF2 has to offer as well.

I'm ready to plunk down the cash, not sure which one to go for. TIA

The QF2 can get part of the way there, but the Oxide has a much fuller, thicker sound.

I want to resurrect this thread and get some up to date info from folks using the QF2. I love the idea of this pedal, and the flexibility it offers in adjusting the amount of distortion by freq band...But I don't see a lot of threads on it, or hear it mentioned much if at all. Let me know who's using it and your thoughts...thanks...
