New Joe Barden Rickenbacker Replacement Pickups!!

This is a very cool thread, thanks to the OP for posting info on the Bardens. I had the Seymour direct replacement set in my '76 4001 for about 10 years, then I replaced them with the Bartolini direct replacement set, sometime in the mid 90's. I personally prefer the sound of the Barts over the SD's, as they sound more "Rick" to my ears, but I regret misplacing my stock pickups. I'd really like to get my 4001's classic Ric growl back.

I've been meaning to buy a set of stock Ric pickups for many years, but possibly the Bardens are worth looking into.

There is a customer review of the Barden Ric pickups over on the Rickenbacker Resource Forums if you are interested.

I plan on installing a set of the Bardens in my new Mapleglo 4003, but only because I have a Jetglo 4003 with stock Hi-Gains (LOVE that bass), a 4001C64 with the horseshoe/toaster pickups and a pair of Ric 4004Cii basses with Ric's HB-1 humbuckers, so the Bardens would provide a 4th sound option.
I really like all of Rickenbacker's factory pickup options, but it would be nice to have that Ric single-coil sound (or at least something very close) without the hum. The HB-1s come pretty close, but again, I'm just looking for another option.

You should come by my workshop and try the 2010 4003 with the barden pickups in it.

And seriously does anybody take the RRF forum seriously? There is so much brown nosing and snobery there that I find it painful to read the posts. The real open discussions about Rickenbackers happen here where you don't get kicked out for not agreeing with Rickenbackers talking points.

BUMP!

Just got this Ibanez lawsuit Ric copy and I'm looking to replace the pick-ups (specifically the bridge).
Sadly there's not many vintage ric pups for sale on ebay at the moment.
Wondering what options are out there these days, and will any truly get me the growl of the originals?

Made like the originals, and better than the new Rick pickups.
