Good morning everyone!
I just bought a new set of La bella Deep talking Bass Strings 45-105 (First Time using La Bella) last night and noticed blotchy spot over the entire E String and a few stops on other strings.

Is this normal or did I get a bum set. They sound good but the E string is slightly more dead than the others.
Has anyone see this on your new strings?

Thank you!

Umm yeah they don't look right. If I was you, I'd contact La Bella directly, send them the pics, and they'll take good care of ya. Any La Bella flats I've played are bright and shiny with no marks on them.

All of the sets of Labellas i have bought have been like this , I wouldnt worry as long as they sound ok, the slightly deader e string is normal and will balance out as they break in

Yep, I just put on a new set of these (49-109) and they're like this...

I was considering trying a set of La Bella 760FL again, but if this is the norm, and not the exception, then I'm not sure if I want to do it. I don't remember the last set I tried a few years ago looking as awful as the ones in the photo.

Hi Derek - From time to time, these marks will appear. Those marks are "highlights" in the metal that happen in the metal extrusion / drawing process that are revealed when we polish and buff the strings by hand. The "highlights" will not affect the tone of the string.
I actually emailed you guys today and you responded within the hour, Nice! Thank you! Pretty much the same answer. I now have the peace of mind and can enjoy the stings. Thanks!

Really? I have never seen a set of La Bella flats that look like the pics above; they have always looked shiny, like glassy chrome. Just speaking for myself, I wouldn't be pleased if they looked like the above.

Labellas are generally nicely finished. Even the weirdo golden flats were well finished. The only set I had issue with was the LTF as they had uneven machining marks and divots in strange places. Gouges almost. The G string was particularly rough...but then, who plays the G string? lol Ah but seriously, it was gouged and rough just an inch or so forward of the bridge. A spot I never pluck from anyway.
My 760FS are flawless. No staining or imperfections of any kind. Even after 4 years.
