New Luna Tat Uke Bass

Got this Luna Tat Uke bass weeks back but have been too busy playing it to write about it.

It's light and compact, tuned to E, A, D, and G like most 4-string basses-but one octave higher in pitch.

Nice woody tone, little finger noise from the smooth flatwound strings.
Volume, EQ (?) and Bass boost controls.

As claimed, the higher pitch makes it louder un-amped. Mahogany neck, sides, body: walnut bridge and fretboard with laser carved spruce top. Synthetic nut.

Good tone amped or acoustic only. No amp really needed for practice in quiet spaces.

Nice fit and finish, semi gloss or satin, nicely dark wood veneered headstock. Artistic tatoo carvings. I like the black tuners.

Metal flatwound strings tune easily and stay tuned with little finger scrape.

Downsides: no strap knobs: typical not perfect intonation- E, A and D being flattish and G a bit sharp. No built-in digital tuner.

I'm stuck on the 12-bar blues and the Luna Tat Uke bass can play it. Good deal at $199 USD with gig bag.

This thing is so light, short, easy to play, cute and tone-full I can't put it down to take pics of it.

At that price, I might buy one just in case any of my nieces or nephews want to start learning early.

No, B-Mac, so far only played with online jam tracks and the drums built into my Roland Cube.

You say that but then you'll be noodling on it all day long and the poor tyke will get no practice on the Tat. Buy two. (-:
The fit and finish are more than one-up on the Journeyman. Intonation though, is a crapshoot. I got lucky. Charming sound though.

A compensated saddle could improve the intonation. It would be nice if the saddle slot was angled correctly but a new saddle could fix most or all of that issue.

An adjustable or at least slanted saddle would help. Probably missing for the same reason the digital tuner and strap buttons are missing: built to a price. Pretty good price for the finish, tone and convenience though.
