Hi, my name is Glen.
I just got my first bass this week.
A Fender Squire Jazz Bass.
Picked up a 100.00 Fender amp with it.
I have been playing five string Bluegrass banjo for 40 years.
Also, a bit of guitar.
Bass has always intrigued me.
For the past year, I have kind of lost motivation to play music.
I am hoping picking up something and exciting will get the juices flowing again. Really looking forward to learning and hopefully contributing something to and from this forum.

I started out on the 5 string banjo.... Not a lot of need for a 5 string banjo player in this area so I switched to rhythm guitar. That led to other things, but, I kept the banjo and finally traded it in on my bass, probably about the same time I joined this forum in 2009.

I'm at ease with an accompaniment instrument and really enjoy playing the bass in a band setting.
