In any case, I'm almost hoping that I won't like these new mesa heads. Mainly because I really can't afford them.

Indeed, that makes two of us! I do have interest in these new mesa offerings but that might change in a few weeks.

It affects my life in 0 ways if you use Ampeg or not. I'm just letting you know that muddy is a very inaccurate term to describe them.

Compared to the Mesa Bass 400+, it's not as tight and not as defined.....mussy. But that's not really an opinion. If you think the SVT is as tight and articulate as one of these....then wow.....I guess the sky is green.

this thread i started has gone off course, compairing ampeg to mesa it like compairing a les paul to strat, each one sounds different but each has a purpose. I chose my mesa 400+ because I thought it sounded good and and I got the amp and a 2x15 cabinet for 1300 dollars. now i will say this a mesa 400+ on top of a ampeg 8x10 cabinet is heaven to my ears. so stop all the bashing thx
