New MIA Fender Jazz?

Without problems I say that my MM MIJ jazz has the best jazz neck I've tried so far !

Guess I'll search for either a MIJ, or a used MIA bargain. New would be nice, but everyone here is right, the real cost would be too much.

I avoided Fender basses for well over a decade because so many people played them and I wanted to be different. After 24 years of playing actives, I bought a passive Lakland DJ5 (5 string jazz bass) and I got hooked. Of the 5 basses I now have, 4 are jazz basses or jazz bass variants.
That said, I have let go of a few instruments I regret. If you have an emotional attachment to the Ric, keep it. Get a lower end jazz and for $200 you can swap pickups and install the best pickups on the planet. I would entertain the jazz bass bug, but find a way to keep your Ric.

Bacchus makes a pretty mean and affordable jazz bass, I personally have a 2014 charcoal oiled craft mij jazz that I just got for half of the price of an mia fender last week, it needs no mods
I've often sold instruments to fund others and there are many times I've regretted it. I think if you sell the Ric to buy a jazz, that will be something you come to regret. I think getting a jazz is a great idea, but save up so you can have both. Especially with an older Ric like that, I think it would be a mistake to let it go.
