In another thread I mentioned that I am trying out some new gear since my AMT is on the DL. I have finally purchased an Electro Voice Raven. Darn fine mic. Good tight low end, crisp highs. I have to push the gain pretty hard to get it where I need it. Tried it on a gig last night and it sounded great. Anyone else try this one. I think I'll get the H-clamp next for convenience.

Adam, i have both the Raven and the Cardinal. the Cardinal (the condenser one) has much more output and sounds better in my opinion.
i did some shows with the Raven just to test it and in my opinion, the output was very low and the overall response was inferior .. but if it works for you.....

Thanks for the feedback fella's! I A/B'd the raven and the cardinal and it seemed to cardinal picked up a little more than I needed on a FOH system. With a little (and I mean little) blend from the realist I get a really good tone, plus this mic is intended to be more of a back-up for my AMT. Christmas and the tax man cometh soon, so I had to go on a budget. I only got to use it on one gig so far, so we'll see how the Raven stacks up in the coming days. Thanks to some well placed friends at sam-ash, I can return or trade up to the cardinal if I need to. I'll try to get some recordings up soon. Thanks again!
