That would be great. I'm just curious to hear what quality of sound gets heard out front. The L-XLR cable isn't a big deal.

How wide does the mount open on the H-clip? The part that attaches to the instrument. I have recessed handles on my speaker cab, so that might be perfect to mount a mic on my cab without taking more floor space.

Hm, never thought of that. Seems like there might be cheaper solutions, but ingenuity is something I'm typically lacking. I got this from Bob G's site. Note there is a min and a max:

Bout Measurement (minimum-maximum)
Bass model: 7.8-8.9 inches / 198-228mm​

I love how an accidental foray into the DB forum has possibly solved micing my bass cab.

oooh... hmmm... That's probably an even better fit. My cab is a 1x15, and much bigger than 14", however the recessed handles are probaly in spec. I'll need to measure it.

Alright.....a quick and dirty recording from last night. Unfortunately, the Cajun bar was loud, and I probably have the Edirol too far away/ not high enough gain, but should give you a pretty good idea. The crowd chills a little after the head. You can hear the bass well during the bass/ drum thing towards the end.

For reference, it was straight into the Bose PAS PA, along with the keyboards. Only one sub was used.

I probably didn't emphasize it enough, but you really NEED a right angle XLR female plug if you position it like I do under the strings because of where the male jack is on the mic.

I had one for my Schertler, but I like how the Planet waves allows you to make the cord go up or down. I had to watch the other cable to make sure it wouldn't hit the bridge.

Hmm, I guess I need to emphasize this again as it is a real negative if you are (like me) trying to mount this mic under the strings. The PW cable did not work as the XLR female was too tall before the angle. The Schertler Canare cable works fine.

Yeah, listening back I probably should have turned up more. I was right by the Bose and I thought I was loud enough.

That is the H Clamp with the EV Cardinal, no pickup.

The strings were EP on the A-D-G and an Innovation Honey on the E. Awaiting a repacement EP E.....the one I got was DOA.

Ehh, I wasn't that upset. He normally is really attentive....he drives an hour and a half to Memphis to take lessons from Chris Parker and has come a long way in the past few months.

He just has this thing for this girl that has been coming in lately...when she is around his mind stops below the beltline.:rolleyes:

I bought this exact rig, as described by Monte, and the Planet Waves L-XLR connector is about an inch longer than the one shown in Monte`s photo. It will not fit!

To clarify, if you buy the current version of Plane Wave`s L XLR cable, it probably will not fit with this microphone directly under your strings. I`m placing it just inside the treble f hole, and it sounds good, a lot of volume before feedback into my Contra. Haven`t tried it on a gig yet.

How about [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]? Looks like it adds only about 1" after it's inserted.

Click [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] for complete measurements. Not only right-angle, but the clockwise/counter-clockwise angle can be changed, too. Silver or black.

I wonder if Butch (Bayou Cables) can get these.
