I have a white Squier one with a tortoiseshell pickguard and strongly dislike it. I asked my dad if I could sell it and a use a bit of extra cash to by a Classic Vibe 70's P bass, but he says I'm being daft. It's no better than an affinity tone-wise, the neck is like a tree trunk, and it just looks out-of-place among normal P basses. Plus it's so light I think it's made of balsa.
I have the same one, Squire white with tort PG, I love mine. Plays great, sounds great, really surprising for an inexpensive instrument. We do Longview, totally nails the sound MD gets on the recording plus a generally solid standard P sound overall.
