New Modern Player Jazz Satin- What strings?

Just bought my first Fender, the Modern Player Jazz Satin and I love it. Only downside is the stock Fender strings.

I love the gauge, 45-100. But the NPS Fender strings suppied sound a bit twangy and clangy, not just bright (like in all new strings). This bass was Demo for a year, so I'm expecting the strings to be broken in, but they still sound like brand new bad quality strings.

I want strings that can be used for lows that cut through and mids that can supply a classic jazz sound.

Looking at sunbeams or lo-riders?
Any experience with these on a Jazz, or any other string suggestions?

Nice choice. I just bought this bass myself. SamAsh had, and still has them for $399. I ordered one, then the next day it was the StupidDeal at MusiciansFriend for 20 bucks less! I called SamAsh and got the credit. I really like the look, sound and feel of this bass. If your bass was a demo for a year you probably have version one. They changed this model somewhere before mid year from what I can gather from pictures. The version 1 had brass saddles. You can find both versions if you web search. I'm bring up the cost factor since it is still available for other TBers. They had twenty in stock, in the two tone, last week. I like the NPS strings that are on mine now. They seem to be the same generic strings that ship on new basses in this price range. They work for me, for now. After taking some relief out of the neck and lowering the saddles, it has good low action, less string to fret noise.
Maybe the place that sold you the bass changed the year old strings, to help get it sold. Otherwise, I don't understand the difference between what we have. I don't think the brass saddles would make that much difference. After all that, I don't have a specific string suggestion. Many people here use bassstringsonline for suggestions and purchases. If you have other basses you can switch strings around to test things out on your own.

GHS Pressure Wounds will give you the beefy bottom and solid meaty mids with nice highs without all ringy-zingy nonsense with less string screech too. The Alloy 52 wrap (52% Iron/48% Nickle) gives great tone that lasts.

I've read several comments about it's weight so I weighed it. It's 10lbs, and my Squier VM Jazz in natural maple/maple is... 10lbs.

I put a set of Daddario half wounds on about 45 days ago...here is the sound I get:
