New MXR Vintage Bass Octave

I know it's meant to sound like the OC2, and not the MXR BOD, but how does the VBO Oct 1 compare to the Growl knob on the BOD ?

BOD growl is a little darker sounding but in the same synthy ballpark.
Wow what a killer little board. I have all of these save the Microtubes but on a big Voodoo Lab Dingbat board. I'm getting a Nano next week and will be looking to do something similar. The MXR Vintage Octave is on top of my list.
Does anyone here know of a direct and comprehensive A/B against the T-16 ?
I've got to agree. I got the MXR last week and ran it through the paces and it got 'close' to my OC-2, but the OC-2 just sounded better for my needs…..or after all these years I'm just used to hearing that ol' familiar octave/synth.
The pluses were:
The MXR tracked better than the OC-2 all the way down to an F for me
The Mid button is nice, and I definitely think it needs to be engaged to cut through
Small footprint if you're into micro pedals
Blue light - so much easier to see than the little red one on the OC-2
I already sent mine back and got my refund but I haven't given up on MXR pedals

I would like to know this as well.
Recently, after an long wait, I got a t-16 assuming it would be the end all octave search but so far..no. I am not sure if it is where I'm placing it in my pedalboard chain (octave- comp- boost- bass) or if i am just used to my BOD.
I think I dont know how to use the filter knob on the t-16..
Makes my octave sound fuzzy or dirty and like it clips my signal or something.
Maybe the mxr vintage octave is the ticket..?

I think in the future a lot of pedals are going to see a micro versions coz of the popularity of smaller boards, and maybe some environmental concerns with the use of batteries and stuff.
Got mine a couple days ago but been too busy with holidays to really put it through it's paces. To my ears it sounds different than the OC-2. Not worse, not better, just different. The Mid switch is an awesome addition, I can't wait to test it in rehearsal and I can't see me disengaging it. I think it'll permanently stay on my board and I'll keep the OC-2 around if I ever need it for recording.
Two minor complaints are the engaged/bypass LED placement being below the footswitch and the footswitch itself takes a lot more force to engage than my other pedals (I guess I can mod it?). Neither are deal breakers just moderate annoyances.

I'm tempted to order one, mostly for a higher headroom OC2 that tracks better. I have and love an Octabvre Mini and the only thing I'm not crazy about is the tracking. The only reason I hesitate on the MXR is I often bounce between sub octave only or like a 60/40 mix and the knob layout and size on the mini allows me to easily do that mid song with my foot. Maybe I can swap the clean knob on the MXR to do the same thing? Maybe for once I can leave well enough alone...
