New "organ" pedal - EHX B9

That's correct - we almost never have an official 'release date,' we just get em out as fast as possible. Just tryin to let you guys know that it's pretty close

With a pedal like this, It'll usually be about a week from when we start final assembly (which started yesterday) to when they get shipped to dealers. And Mike really likes this product so he seems to be giving it priority. After that it's just up to shipping speed!

Many thanks. Europe won't be getting them any later than the US, I hope?

We always seem to get the short end of the stick on this side of the pond

There shouldn't be a significant difference - we've got USA and Euro versions both being assembled right now, so the first batch will be completed and sent to dealers at the same time. I imagine customs and shipping to Europe might be a little slower, but I think that depends on the dealer (sorry to be vague - distribution/marketing is not my department or area of expertise!)

This doesn't look like anything too far out of what my POG and a modulation pedal can do, however it simplifies things significantly in terms of presets and space.

Definitely looking forward to bass reviews.
I think it's more than convenience though. The POG sounds kind of like an organ, whereas this pedal comes very close to totally nailing the sound. You would need a POG, a good eq, and a nice modulation pedal to get these sounds, and even then you wouldn't have good control over the key click.
I don't know if I'll get it just because it's a lot of money for a pedal I wouldn't use that often. But it is intriguing.

Exactly. It sounds like an organ in a way I don't think any other pedal really does. I don't know if it's the key click or the modulation or any other black box aspects of the presets (probably all of the above), but this doesn't sound like a POG to me.

I see the key click feature being more or less the filter feature on the pog.

I don't have any first-hand experience with the POG but I've listened to plenty of demos. I've never heard it sound like this, and I wouldn't assume that a "key click" is just a filter. It seems like it has more to do with the attack?

I'm oversimplifying, yes. But the attack sounds like the increased presence that accompanies the initial strike of the string. It's an eq issue to my ears rather than a specialty tracking algorithm or whatever.

I had a Pog 2, and although the tracking is amazing, I never liked the thin, synthetic, chimey sound, especially in the high frequencies. And the EQD pedal sounds terrible to my ear. This pedal doesn't sound that way to me, it's much thicker sounding. It might be just eq or filter tweaks, but it seems to have a much more satisfying sound to me.
I will be waiting to see/hear reviews.
