New PA - Is it enough?

Hey guys. Formed a new band with some bandmates from previous projects. In the past, someone else always owned most of the PA gear, so we had to pretty much buy all new stuff. I'm happy with the sound and quality, but I wonder if it will have enough guts.
We use small amps on stage and mic/DI everything, and will spend most of our time playing in small to medium clubs and bars. So tell me what, if anything, we need to add.
By the way, we're 2 guitars, keys, drums, bass, 5 vocal mics, classic rock/country.

I question mainly the single sub since I'm used to having 2, and I don't know if the K10's will have enough volume.

Board - Mackie CFX16MKII
Mains - 2x QSC K10
Sub - Yamaha DSR118W
Monitors - 3x Peavey PV115M driven by a QSC GX7.

Personally I would switch your mains and two of your monitors, those 115Ms can be pole-mounted (they will just look funky) and with the GX7 powering them you will most likely have a lot more projection from the Peaveys than you would the K10s.

The sub should be just fine, put it front and center of the show and have the mains "flying" off to the side, you could possibly use the third Peavey front and center as well to fill up the front of the floor but I doubt it would be a deal-breaker.

K10s spread more for small rooms. Very impressive when used with subs

Heck I do trio gigs with a single livex no sub - all direct

When in your shoes someone suggested a driverack ---- took me 6 months to plug I was silly for waiting

Man, I don't know. Those QSC self powered speakers are supposed to be amazing from everything I've read and using a dedicated sub will take a ton of pressure of of them.

That might just be a great system. I'd have a lot of hope for it.

Having said that, I've never really ever seen a band that couldn't over run their PA if they weren't paying attention. You need a BIG stage and a sound company before you can just do whatever you want and get away with it.

I'd probably want the K12's also but those are what, $800+ a piece? That's a lotta money for me to oooh and aaah through 6 times a night.

Since you aleady took the plunge, give it a try with what you have. I know my PRX612Ms can carry the rooms we normally play.

We have a couple of passive 118 subs that I would like to be able to replace with a single active sub, ideally. Lets us know how it goes, and in particular how that sub works out!

Well, one of the guitarists went ahead and bought this stuff. It's not what I would have bought with my money, but it's a huge investment on his part and I appreciate it.
We've been using it in practice for a couple months. No problems. Plenty of volume and headroom. Sound quality is excellent. Just worried about whether it can carry a larger room full of drunk people.

Our first gig is a week from Friday. I'll let everyone know how it performs.

That makes no sense at all. The K10s will out perform those crappy Peaveys. All 3 of them cost as much as one k10.

We've been using the K10s at rehearsal for a couple months and they're working out great there. Our first gig with them is next Friday 6/29. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

Curious... why put both subs right next to each other or stacked? I always see them on opposite sides of the stage. Does this help prevent them cancelling each other out?

It sounds like you're using a single ksub, is that true? I would love to be able to replace our two passive subs with one active one. My fear is that one sub will fall short and I'll end up needing a second one. I'm running PRX612M tops that are probably capable of volume levels similar to your QSCs.

Yes. Ideally you would have any/all subs centered in front of the stage; if that's not possible then all right next to each other on one side, vertically aligned with the mains.

Alright. Did our first show with this setup last night. Played a local club ~ 150 people or so. All my doubts were completely unfounded. Happy to say the K10's were plenty loud and single Yamaha sub worked out great. Still had lots of headroom to spare and I thought the sound quality was excellent.
