I'm a new member here and just purchased a 1985 Peavey Patriot found online at GC. Below is the pic they had listed on their online store. I had purchased this for $169 and they never sent me a tracking number. At the end of the week I received an email with a cancellation notice. What the heck? I called the store in Florida (I live in California) to ask what the deal was with the cancellation notice. They told me it was canceled because one of the tuners was missing so they placed it on clearance for $50. I let them have a piece of my mind for not checking with me first and offering it to me for $50. Long story short is that it is now mine and in need of some TLC. I have a set of previously owned tuners on the way to me now. The back of the body has big black snot goobers from where the disintegrating case padding had embedded itself into the guitar's finish. Someone had replaced the factory pick guard with a home made version and a pair of Fender Jazz type pickups. They actually did a very nice job of routing out the holes for the pick ups. I'm eventually going to strip it all down and refinish the body after I get some play time in and the weather warms up. I used to play bass when I was a teenager and gave it up when I became a family man. I picked up the 6 string guitar a few years back and am just now coming back to my roots with a bass. I'll post some more picks as the work progresses.
