It's a "green" thing. Interesting concept though, if it's durable and doesn't affect the sound.

Chambered bamboo wings, no less. The neck on a Cirrus already sticks out further from the body than more traditional designs. I wonder if this is going to have real Neckdivitis.

The odd thing to me is they've had pictures of this model on their website for a while (a year or more?). I wonder why they're just now "officially" announcing it.

Well I know there's been a Sarzo model out for a while:

This must be "new" in regards to the building materials they're using.

I could have sworn they were displaying these Sarzo models two years ago at NAMM.

Edit: maybe the one in the link that Mark posted was it.

This is just a Cirrus with a few modifications. Not a true signature like the original Sarzo bass.

True. I guess the days of truly unique "signature" models are gone forever.. :(

    True.

  10. and I hope the price truly reflects the use of really cheap materials... I realize bamboo it stout but one has to wonder how they are managing to get such big pieces outside of processing and pressing the materials...funny how they are painted

I guess I don't understand what differentiates an past signature model from a recent signature model then.

    Original Sarzo circa 1991:

    001.

Different body shape and pickups unique to the instrument.

From the Peavey website story, the MSRP is $1,499, but I don't think it said where it was made.

I feel that the original Sarzo bass was one of the best mass produced basses of all time.

    Varies..

There are two on Ebay at the moment. One's asking $400 but the active electronics aren't working. The other is at $600 and has been modded.
