Link Removed Short scale bass case
The pics showed up fine - looks like a perfect fit, and a lot less money than the Fender one.
Does it seem like it will hold up OK - build quality?
Also - sounds like BusyFingers is in the market for a 32" scale jazz bass.
I think I read in a different thread that you're looking to go 32" scale eventually?
I'm lucky. After being on a buying/selling frenzy for several years,
the Mustang P/J has pretty much extinguished my GAS.
It could always resurface sometime later, but I'm really enjoying
the break from it right now.
Yep, I'm still waiting on mine from Sweetwater too. I hope Moog is better at meeting shipping estimates than Fender is (looking forward to bleep blooping with a Cluster Flux).
Zzzounds, Sweetwater....Adorama has had these back in stock for weeks and with 2 day delivery. They had them in stock when most every online music store didn't. FWIW
I doubt they'll take my Sweetwater card...
This guy seems to like his! (and he plays a Fodera) Mustang portion starts around the 2:00 mark.
Janek has monster chops so if it was a crap bass I think he would pass on this one.

Mine came setup beautifully. Slight intonation adjustment & was good to go. Just sayin..Sounds ok but listen to all that clanking and buzzing though (especially with the stock strings). These come setup horribly, my Ibanez Mikro came set up much better and its a third of the price. Probably what really turned me off from buying one. Don't want to raise the action to make it playable.
I want one, but if I got it I would rip the jazz pickup out and keep it precision only. Don't know what I'sld do with the 3 way switch...maybe change it to series/parallel?
If you want a short scale Fender P, you want a Fender P JR. It smokes any Mustang, original or reissue. Its a full sized Fender P shrunk down by 10%. They were only made for 3 years back about a decade ago and are pretty rare and go really fast when they pop up used. Was going to link you to the one on Reverb but someone bought it already. I had one with a tone knob which was extremely rare and foolishly sold it. The one I picked up a few months ago didn't have a tone knob and I didn't like it quite as much for what I needed it for. They are fantastic though.
Well, you could always go with the MIJ Mustang with the P styled pickup. I had one of those too, here it is next to my P JR. Its not quite the full on P bass sound but close.
