I'm shopping around for a speaker(s) cab and a head to use. Something that I can transport easier than my peavy TNT 1x15 to and from practice/shows.

I'm pretty set on getting an avatar cab, probably their 1x12. Dunno what head I should get though. I looked at ahsdowns little giant, and some GK stuff. I'd like to keep total price south of 1K.

Considered preamp/power amp? There's a few sub $400 amps at 8-15 lbs and a few pedal preamps that sound real good. Might be able to make it in under half your budget, and it could all go in something the size of a briefcase that you carry over your shoulder.
