If this hard ass wants to play that game, noooooo problem! Let the games begin! If he doesn't like TroutLeg than he doesn't get TroutLeg! He gets....he gets.....Prestige! Just think of a good stripper name you can get away with.

your band name doesn't really say anything about what you play, and it may be that this is the only venue that bothered to tell you the name was a problem - but perhaps it is for other venues, as well. i'd change the name, but i wouldn't bother to change it for the one night only since any potential fans won't be able to find your band with a different name. if you don't need the money and one night at a prestige venue doesn't matter to you, i wouldn't bother to change the name IF you're attached to it. if you want to play the venue, change your band name for the night.

btw, i used to know the folks in a band called penis flytrap. luckily for them, they played horror punk, but the name didn't sound like the music and kept their music away from a lot of potential listeners.

Used to watch a band in the 70's called Peter Out & The Faders....Punk...naturally.....Their name was prophetic....They petered out and faded :rolleyes:.....

One has to have a dirty mind to get that from "TroutLeg." But I was in a band that all the area musicians and most people loved, but a couple of club owners called it "a ****** name" and wouldn't hire us. Fine by me.

Lots of band names sound dumb until the music makes them famous. I submit Toad The Wet Sprocket and Cherry Poppin Daddys as band names that sound dumber than Trout Leg.
