If you want to attack my credentials, that’s fine and I really don't care, I'm pretty secure with my personal accomplishments.
I'm not really attacking anything. But if you are discussing someone's product it helps to call things by their rightful functions. I skim these threads, so I have no idea really if Reeves has ever called the thing a horn. Someone did though, so I guess that must have been you, then?
Asserting in print, in a public forum that a company; such as Reeves, is intentionally misleading potential customers is entirely different and libelous. (since you obviously have an issue with reading comprehension, I’ll spell it out: It’s MY opinion that your statements are libelous)
Ah, you are their legal consultant then. <---Joke. The umbrage you take here triggered it ; }
I also surmise from your reaction(s) that you really, really, really wanna be a professional (defined by me as getting paid to design a driver/enclosure combination for an actual manufacturer)
Nope. Not in the least. I'm not saying someday I might not change my mind, but I'm sure not planning or working toward it.
or at least percieved as a professional speaker designer, and attribute the fact that you missed this quote to some inherent jealousy of those who may (or may not) be in that capacity in REALITY;
That's some unclear wording, but I see the word "jealous" there. If you are saying I might be jealous, nope. Not in the least. I'm not jealous of any hard, honest work being realized. I'm not jealous of those who believe in their ideas and take on the onerous task of building a business around them. I wish anyone who does this and takes the high road the very best.
As I've suggested to you before, you should put up the money and effort and start a company building speakers rather than waste your time taking pot shots at others that have put their “money where their mouth is” so to speak. Just start a consulting business getting paid by recognized manufacturers to advise them, then your opinion might matter.
Similarly then, anyone who states a well-founded opinion in a forum on a subject that interests them and that they hope has some educational "pay it forward" value, should become a consultant? Should any comments that are of the slightest technical nature then have a monetary motive? I think not.
This is a discussion forum, and we are here to discuss. I don't think it any breach of honest discussion to say that it's good to understand things by the proper names and know the concepts if one is going to invoke names or phrases which pertain to specifics.
Designing is easy; funding, building, marketing, distributing, and successfully retailing those cabs is where the talent lies
Nope. It all takes talent. A good balanced equation requires content, style, expertise, familiarity with a plethora of tools physcial and within the computer, love, acumen, sweat... Lots of learning and overcoming obstacles. I appreciate it all. Business is a skill and done well, deserves accolades. And I enjoy discussing it and feel I've paid some dues to do it a a fairly high level, and with frankness.
and wasting energy libelously attacking successful businesses out of jealousy defeats any positive info you could possibly share.
You've assumed intent and content that just isn't there, and extrapolated upon that considerably ; }
Just to again make it abundantly clear, I'm just another guy on a forum, commenting on this and that, with nothing against Reeves whatsoever.
