On September 6 they released a new version of Rocksmith called Rocksmith+. It's an online only, monthly subscription service, PC platform only, with ios support coming later. And it doesn't support any of your old cdlc files. I've been using Rocksmith Remastered for a few years and love it. Has anyone seen or tried the new version? Any thoughts about the new version yet?

Hi Steve,
yes I am using it and like it pretty much so far.

The 2 or 3 only things I would improve are :
- I have a tiny bit of latency with the realtone cable and my cheap "gamer laptop" even after long setup. Playable but not natural.
- the songs list is a bit disappointing, but with a bit of search there are some good songs to play in my opinion in different genres
- the social aspects are not developed, I would like to "compete" with some bassist friends of mine on some songs it could be fun.

I did not play RS2014 so I cannot compare. It's fun but it requires to get used to the "color and numbers" reading, it does not have so much in common with proper music playing or even real bass playing, but once you master a song you can start to "not read" so much and it becomes about music

Fun fact : with this game my 11y old and 8y old kids are suddenly interested to play my bass :D

Hello, thanks for the feedback. I've been a Rocksmith user for five years now. The list of songs is endless. One of the biggest comments I've heard so far has been the new song list isn't as good as the old version. And the old songs are not compatible with the new version.

I always disconnect my mac from the internet when I use rocksmith. I got burned one time when the software did an automatic update and stopped working. I'm not sure I like having to always have an internet connection to use the new program.

I have gotten very used to the color and number format. Actually, if it wasn't for rocksmith, I probably wouldn't be playing bass at all. To hear that your kids are interested in playing is wonderful. For them, it really is just playing a video game. I see a couple of short scale basses as holiday presents this season!!!

Keep us posted on your progress. Thanks.

Yes, thanks

1. About the playlist it is supposed to grow tremendously in the next monthes. I cross the fingers, but so far I have more than enough on it for the few hours a week I manage to spend on it

2. I'm getting used to this "platform economy" and online live game strategy switch for every content and game available. No more offline use. I think we have to adapt and follow, the trend is heavy and the youngers want this.

3. Glad it is a great tool to make you play the bass, I admit that these days that is what I want to do when I grab the instrument. For the shortscale we will see, I just bought a second full scale bass and 2 instruments is already more than I need. We'll see !

See you
