New Roscoe Tops Available

I guess I will have to throw the hat in on this one, there really needs to be a Crash model. I will give this some thought as to the woods I want to use.

Maybe some Boxelder, one similar to this one but with more road rash and more of a bloody stain look.

Maybe Boxelder/Walnut/Boxelder (Maybe Redwood instead of Walnut on the body) and a Maple/Walnut/Maple neck.

Oh, yeah, here's the top for the CC-3006. Looks like the top has stitches right across the middle... or if you squint, it could be the Shroud Of Turin.

Ever seen Bloodwood? It's a blood-red wood that would make a PERFECT fingerboard for this one. It's heavy and waxy, so I'm not sure what it would do tonally and balance-wise. But it would LOOK perfect.

Hmm... I'm gassing for my second Roscoe and my first one hasn't been build yet.


Depending on how satisfied I will be with the first, I may order a next one. Fretted 4-string then to complement the fretless.

I have the specs already in my mind. :o

Ha-ha! Yes, indeed, single pickup basses would have to remain special orders :) If you'd care to to a whack at a more traditional one, as well, you're certainly welcome.

I used to make Invalid Link Removed, and a friend described the lunacy of my career choice nicely. He said something to the effect of "Your market is the guy going to a Beatles convention looking for Beatles hairpieces, but not just ANY Beatles hairpiece - he's after a RINGO hairpiece". (in other words - not too many guys at the Beatles convention are looking for Beatles hairpieces in the first place, and of those guys who are, very few want the Ringo one)

Single pickup Roscoe basses probably fall in the Ringo hairpiece arena. They're no better or worse than the John and Paul, there's just not nearly as much call for them :)

Me? I love Ringo! But the world is a cruel place...

If I am satisfied with this "special" order being build now, very good chance I'll order a second one.

More traditional the next time: 4-string fretted, 2 bartolinis, natural finish....



But solid maple body again though. :ninja:

Shhhhh :) This is all a bit preliminary, so don't take this to the bank.

They're considering allowing customers to order a Century without the wedge neck. So the Century Sig will continue to come with the wedge neck, and the Century-300X will come with a standard neck (and an LG/SKB price).

They're also considering "Signature" LG and SKB models (that would come with the wedge neck by default).

This is NOT official, just rumor at this point :)

...sigh, dang it, you "scooped" my forum you wascally wabbit! Yes, this change seems imminent, and we have begun to allow orders for the carved Century body style without the wedge neck. We are still working out the details on pricing at this time for the entire change, keep your eyes on the Roscoe forum for future developments over the next week or two...

Interesting. So, if this were to become official, a person, such as myself, could then order what is essentially a Century Sig w/standard neck, at a closer price to an SKB??

If so, I might just have to hold off on that SKB3005..........(my SSII just sold, so I'm in the decision making process right now---trying to decide if I can in fact get by with just one bass for the next few months).

EDIT: Gard just answered my question, it seems.
