New: Science Mother Preamp Pedal

Got my Mother Preamp today in Hammered Green.

Also met Alex at a Pedal Expo in Portland Oregon today. Talked with him a bunch about the Mother and how it is Hiwatt inspired and always has that baked in EQ curve. He said to use TSC on the web to get a feel for it. He said you could dial in a flatter response with the Abscence and Depth controls as well, but I think you are buying this for the character of the app.

Tried a few other EAE pedals they had there and really liked the Citadel and Longsword. Might pull the trigger on those eventually.

Still stoked about the Mother and hitting it with some boosts and playing with the different circuits.

Alex was great to talk to and said he learned a lot from Talkbass for designing his cabs, which would be interesting to try out one day. Very nice and responsive to all my questions.

Anyways here's some pics...

Currently using the Capo and Model feT to get a very similar sound to the Tunnel of Reverb demo. It ain’t cheap but super tempting to try it out.

Everythink EAE put out is incredible.

Currently got the Model feT, Dagger, Halberd and OxEAE Fuzz. Replaced the Longsword with the Dagger but wish I’d kept both to be honest!

Received the Mother yesterday afternoon and got it integrated into my small board.

I've spent about 5 hours with it so far & IT. DOES. NOT. SUCK. — It's absolutely BRILLIANT!!

I'm so impressed that I very well may replace the JF CAPO on my big board with the Mother as well.
Ahhhh that’s not what i needed to hear

Hopefully they do a new batch and get some in an my go-to boutique pedal shop!

I've played with it a couple hours and really like it, using it for edge of breakup and dirty. Making me rethink the other drives on my board.

I know Channel B is higher gain, but is there a different voicing to that channel? When I try to dial is the same amount of gain between both channels, they sound similar but different.

My only guess is that Channel B has a "steeper" gain slope, so it's more responsive to dynamics, which means different frequencies respond differently, which gives the illusion of a different voice, but it's really just a gain factor difference.

Can't wait to gig/rehearse with this and hear it in context, but my guess is it's going to sound great.
