Why don't he change the neck and the body too! You guy's crack me up! "change this , change that" Just play the damm thing! It is what it is! You would never hear someone say change all this with an MIA jazz though! But to hear some of you tell it MIM basses are just as good! Stop the madness!Jonki said:badass II bridge yes, absoloutly. change pickups and electronics, and pickguard, perhaps some new knobs too![]()

Just a new set of good aftermarket pups and bridge put's it in that price range! God forbid you don't like the bass after all the mod's (it may not sound better but will sound different) You take a huge loss on your investment! Now if you want to mod a bass to hell that's ones perogative ( I own 3 MIM basses that have some sort of mod) what I'm trying to say here is alway's play the bass for awhile until you find exactly what it is you don't like! When you find what you don't like then make your decision bassed on that! That is what I did. What happens God forbid after all the mods are done and the neck goes sideway's? There is nothing wrong with modifiying a bass, just know why you are doing it!FlawLaw said:If you put new tuners, a new bridge, and new pickups and new electronics, then the cost of the mods put it up there with a used MIA 4 string Jazz.

sk8inbassist17 said:i was thinking of more along the lines of a mirror or brushed silver pickguard. i like the tone im getting with my pups. and how much do the 5 string badass II bridges cost.
Jonki said:mirror is cool! Badass V cost around 100$ at bestbassgear.com
edit : 92$ at basspartsresource.com
I don't think the holes should be different, Badass II bridges are designed for direct replacement on Fenders. I can tell you, however, why I prefer the Badass bridge to the stock bridge on my Fender; it added sustain, increased the natural bass of the instrument, and provided highly different string tensions just from moving my right hand position towards or away from the bridge. Not to mention the fact that the chrome bridge does look quite nice on the black finish of my bass.sk8inbassist17 said:i was looking at the configuration of the the screws in a badass II and they are way different then my current bridge. what would i have to do to get it on if the holes are different.

If you decide to order one, I believe you will have to take it to a guitar repairman, as he will file out the saddles to the exact specifications of your favorite strings, and install it for you.![]()
