New Sire P Basses!

That's great! Congrats. I really need to know how much it weighs and how it balances on a strap
It's a series named after him. Not an "Artist Model" more like the flea basses as opposed to the fender jazz flea model.
Not me playing, but that baby growls!

Punch the bass. New technique I need to work on. I actually think it was kinda cool. Something about that guys face though.... oh and the bass sounded good!
Ok, I played my new P7 at 7:00am the morning after opening the box. Here's the report:
Playability: I have owned a 4 and 5 string V7, an M3 and an M7 and now a P7. Each one before the P7 had good setups on the right out of the box. I would then set them up for my playing, and then they would play perfect. The P7 felt like it was setup for me right out of the box. I put my strap locks on the bass and the new Sire strap they gave me. Then I changed the 1/4" output jack (More on this below). The P7 played like I had owned it for years. I must admit to really understanding the Marcus Miller preamp but I instantly got the right settings.
Sound: The pickup blend is really nice. I played two services so the first service I used a 50/50 blend of both pickups and the sound was like a J bass with a little growl. The second service I dialed in 100% P pickup. The growl was great! You could swear I was playing a P Bass but you could tell it was active when I started slapping. Once again, that P pickup growl was present but with a nice low "B" string and an active "G" string. (I hope that made sense to somebody??). To put into a word......Round and thick, (Ok,two words). Before I received the bass I was all set to replace the pickups with Bertolini's. Forget that mess.....I will keep my Sire P7 pickups! Don't touch them!!
Craftsmanship: With each Sire bass I ordered the quality has improved. The neck feels beautiful, the setup is great, the quality is "on-point". How could Sire get better than that first V7 I got a year and a half ago. Quality and workmanship, A+.
Electronics: The reason I will report on the electronics is because I took the pick guard off in order to replace the 1/4" output jack. The whole electronics cavity is coated with electronic conductive shielding paint and foil tape. And it's done correctly, they made sure it was all connected to the bass ground. The reason I change the output jack is I discovered that my Sire basses were disabling my Line G10 wireless transmitter. The standard output jack on the Sire basses was causing this to happen. So I replace the jack with a Switchcraft part and it all works perfect.
Overall: My P7 feels and sounds as good or better than my custom bass. It has more tonal choices than my other basses. My R&B band will like the fact that I will only have one bass on the stage instead of two (4 and 5 string). I'll be starting two new studio projects next month and I can't wait to use my P7 in the studio.

Interesting, my M7 and I think even my old V7 don't negatively affect my use of the Line 6 G10 wireless. I just used it yesterday with my M7 at church. (Didn't work in my acoustic guitar or my buddies Spector though).
My P7 5 string weights about 9 lbs. It does NOT head dive and it balances very well on the strap.
I should add this.....I fell asleep on the couch last night with it strapped on. I got some practice in before I fell asleep.
OK I took the plunge and re-ordered another P7 5 in ash white. I had originally ordered the same bass the first day that they were offered, but had to cancel for financial reasons. Now I'm in a better financial place, and can't wait to get mine.
