New Squier 5 String Jazz Bass

Hello all,
I am new to the forum and thought I'd show off my bass...I'm sure it doesn't compare to alot of the things I am seeing on here, but it's mine, so that makes it sweeeeeeeeet! Haha.

I have been playing on a Dean Edge 4, and wasn't a big fan of it...but it got me started, and today I decided it was time to upgrade.

I am playing through my GS-10 right now...but I also have a Behringer Ultrabass 300W for when the wife isn't home

Congrats! I love those Affinity Jazz 5s! I may buy one and swap out the pickups next week.

Oh man... That sunburst is GORGEOUS! I had one of these in black but sold it, in lieu of becoming a P-Bass man. I'm seriously tempted to buy one of these in sunburst... Ugh. Congrats on the new bass brother!

Thanks guys...when I called Sam Ash...I was interested in the 5 string...when he said all they had was 1 and it was Sunburst...well let's just say I only stopped for gas because I love the Sunburst w/white pickguard!

I am having trouble finding the bridge cover for the 5 string though...it's not a deal breaker cause I love the bass, I just think it'd look good....

How's the weight on those affinities? I miss my MIM 5 string Deluxe but don't miss the weight.

It's a decent chunk of Alder I'll tell you that much. I am going back to Sam Ash for a wider strap...leather or suede, this crap old nylon one isn't cutting it. Actually it literally IS cutting it...dang thing slices my neck...

Would you say its around the 12 pound range or lighter?

Hmmmm the only basses that had bridge covers for a 5 string jazz were the old SXes

I never weighed mine but it didn't feel THAT heavy.. I dunno.

I just stood on the scale with and with out it and did the math...that's what I got...it's pretty heavy...

I'm by no means weak or have a weak back. But I remember with a 3.5 inch leather strap on my old MIM deluxe my shoulder began to ache after about 30 minutes with it.

I have a white one that I use to tour with sometimes. Sounds great & is easy to play. I put a Hipshot bridge on it & some flat wound strings.
