I dug out my first bass to discover it had no strings on it. How'd that happen? Remembering some previous discussion I decided to try out Ernie Ball for the first time in almost 20 years.
My first thoughts are that I enjoy the zing these strings have. They have a bit of a metallic sound without being clanky or clangy. The low end is present but I don't find it pronounced. Did a little slapping, and pops are LOUD.
They have more tension than other strings I've used. They also have a bit of rough texture on the fingers.
All in all I'm liking these strings, I'm interested to see how long they last.
