Here's another sound of these strings, full set but I'm mostly playing the D,G. This is mic'd differently than the example above, using an omni mic with an extended top, picks up more of the tone but also picks up more of the room sound. Anyway...

Sounds good!

I'm having trouble recording my basslines in Audacity - especially when I slap. The built-in mic on my MacBook Pro picks up mostly the trebly stuff (eg the high end of the slap, finger noise, etc) :help:

I'm going to do some research and try to find a cheap interface that I can use with Audacity, that can also go between my D-TAR Solstice and laptop. If anyone has any suggestions or something they could sell me, please hit me up with a PM :bassist:

One more I just did for fun, used the piezo on the bridge only, no room sound. Played more on the A, E too, you can hear the flop on the E string with these guts. I'm missing being able to bow so I'll probably change back soon but the pizz sound is pretty nice...

So I ordered the D and G and put them on my `51 King Mortone. I got some 600 grade sand paper but can`t seem to smooth the G enough so that it can speak without choking out in spots. The D is fine and I even raised the action quite a bit.(I had Spiros on and still have Spiro E and A) Any suggestions?

I received the gut string oil on Friday and am excited to put them on my E and A strings :bassist:

Could you (or anyone else :ninja:) please explain to me how I should go about putting on the oil? My plan is to string up the guts, clean them, let them dry, but then I have no idea what to do.
