New Stuff from Earthbound Audio

I detect your sarcasm. :p

I'm more interested in the OSC Beast.

The world needs another Silicon Fuzz like it needs a hole in the head :D. Still I'd give them a go if for nothing else that I love my Supercollider.

Someone here's already got one (DannyBuoy?), posted clips too, sounds very impressive.

Fo shizzle,

I'm just stoked that Mark's gearing up for another run of them...after getting sick and having to quit my job; any money I make after getting back to work has to go the household for the moment.

I'd so be on that wait list if it weren't for that.

For those that don't have a Myspaz account to see the blog entry:

The Earthbound Audio CENTURION silicon fuzz is now available. It's a tweakable 2- transistor wall-of-fuzz unit using bc109 metal can transistors and premium WIMA and Vishay capacitors.

I'll be making them in sparkly blue and orange (maybe some in green as well?).

Units #001-003 are up on ebay now for $150 plus shipping. Check them out: Link Removed

The OSC Beast will be making its return late this Summer. The new version will feature mxr-style knobs with white line indicators for easier knob-tweaking and visibility and will be the first silk-screened Earthbound Audio pedal. Likely green ink on a black enclosure. It will also include a voltage sag control.

The first run will be 15 pedals and the list is open now! To reserve a pedal send an email to [email protected] with "OSC Beast" in the subject line. Include your name, address, and paypal email address. The price is $230 plus shipping ($7 U.S. / $12 world / $24 world priority).

Invoices will be sent out once all the pedals are completed, no payment needed up front. The first run will hopefully be finished around mid/late August but may take longer depending on the build time needed for each unit.

Over and out,

-Mark

From pedal maker:

"Controls are as follows:

VOLUME: Output level of the pedal. Unity gain is around 12-1 o'clock and gets very loud past there.

MASS: This controls both the fatness of the note and the sustain. Turned fully counterclockwise there is less sustain and more emphasis on the attack. Fully clockwise yields the most sustain and fattest sound.

FUZZ: The amount of signal gain from mild fuzz to over the top buzz.

IN TOGGLE SWITCH: a 2-way switch that selects the low end going into the pedal. Down position has less bass with a crisper attack while the Up position offers a fatter attack.

OUT TOGGLE SWITCH: a 3-way switch to select the low end at the ouput of the pedal. Mid position yields the least low end, Down offers a full range, and Up lets out the most low end for de-tuned guitars or bass."

I'm not sure, but I think it may be a one off. I also commented on perhaps having a reissue of the "Nano" Supercollider. Mark says he has other projects (production Bozarth?); but perhaps in the fall, in a different incarnation. He alluded to the Catalinbread Super Kiss when speaking of incarnations.
