New SX P bass....whadda ya think...??

I'd buy one of these in a heartbeat if I didn't already own a Squier CV 50's SCPB. I'd probably take my jigsaw to the headstock, though. I'd decide after I saw it in person.

Well I've already got a Fender CIJ '51 reissue that I love. But for $130 I was curious enough to want to try one of these. UPS says I'll have it Monday. I'll report back then. And yes I too expect to work that headstock over a bit.

Nice bass and I see no issues with the headstock. Tough to come up with a design now days that doesn't infringe on someones copyrights. You could always round off the sharp corners with some sandpaper and elbow grease and have your own design.

I've still got the stock roundwound strings on but the tone appears to be decent single coil P-tone, very similar to my Fender 51 reissue. I haven't had a chance to rework the headstock yet so I've not restrung it, but I've got some La Bella flats that are going on when that happens and that's going to make a huge difference.

Grab one of these if you're on the fence, the price is sure right.
