There have been a couple of Jay Turser 51 style P basses at a shop nearby selling for $150. The overall feel of the basses were consistent but unfortunately were underwhelming enough to keep me from buying one. They sounded good but just didn't have the right feel... as though they were made of cardboard. My SXs feel so much more substantial and solid.

Boy .....Kurt had to email me too....saying it was fretted (tho the idea of a FL is not bad)

Now...the output of that single pup in comparison to the split P pup?????

well i am just looking at that douglas canoe paddle neck heck it has no skunk stripe its just a solid hunk of maple thats white and has a huge ugly headstock, that neck is FUGLY AS ****:D

BUT i know there are many talented people amongst us and and know someone could cut it down tele shape and reranch tint it and OMG it would be sweet looking.

The Turser has a basswood body (good because it's light). The Turser tuners and other hardware is not as good as SX. The pickup on the Turser has plenty of hum and not very clean sounding. The headstock on the Turser is even uglier. I've switched out everthing on my Turser. Only the body remains.
