I picked one of these up a little over a month ago as soon as I saw it in stock at Sweetwater. The flexibility is incredible. You get a clean amp with the blend all the way off and then can add in the wonderful VT Bass sounds turning the blend up. I like how you essentially get a VT Bass and a power amp in one. I only wish there was a pre-post on the DI for those times where I want to send a clean signal FOH. Otherwise, it's near perfect.

It's different.
You can get a real (almost authentic) distortion, you can get vintage SVT type sounds, Ampeg Fliptop type tones, modern sounds, EQ with a mid-shift, the ability to tighten/loosen the tightness of the low end response.
You can blend your clean and dirty tones....
The list goes on. Some people like it... some people don't.

I was mainly wondering if it has the whump/girth/booty/thickness the TH500 can do.
I like what I hear as far as midrange on up, I'll give it another listen with headphones later today. Also intrigued by the 1x12's.

I have the 112... as soon as I got it, I wanted to order a second, but decided to wait until my b'day.
I think it's perfectly matched to the head and is tuned to coax out all the tones that this generates with a great amount of clarity. I also think it's light weight and constructed well.
I had the VT Bass 500 sitting on a Bergantino CN210... I think it's much better here...

I respect a guy who knows what he likes. Like I've said, dollar for dollar the vt is the best overall preamp out there.
The bag is great. The pocket is nice and roomy. It holds my 15" power cable, speaker cable and wireless receiver and power cord without issue.
Reading through these pages I get the impression that the speaker sim is only active on the DI output and not the speaker outs, is this correct?
Sounds even better with the matched cabs!
That is correct, the speaker sims are only available on the DI.
The amp sims work through the speaker cabinet.
