A little background and then some questions. I recently picked up an Ibanez SR500e with a nice Gator case for $200. It had some problems like a bad buzz, a hump in the neck, and poor intonation. I took the truss rod way down to flatten the neck, resoldered the input jack connections, set the intonation on the bridge, then set the string height on the bridge to eliminate most of the fret buzz, then reset the intonation. I also sanded off that stupid SoundGear Label and refinished the head Stock. It looks much better now. I have a Fender Pro-jr with a single 10", that seems insufficient. I also have a Carvin Vintage 50 Head with matching 4x10 cabinet that sounds pretty good, but not quite there. And I was going through some older stuff I had lying around and found a Hartke 7000 that I picked up during a rental renovation and somebody had just left it behind. I read the manual and plugged the Hartke into the 4x10 Carvin Cab. Hartke set to mono and bass plugged into low pass (although I think that doesn't matter). Anyway, the Hartke sounded far superior to the Carvin 50 Head on the tube side and the mosfet side(?????), still learning about this thing. And everything worked, HooRay!! So I am in for this whole setup at $200 (less the pro-jr which I bought as a guitar practice amp). The Carvin Vintage 50 setup was a gift. So here are my questions. I need a decent, fun course structure to learn this bass and any recommendations would be appreciated. And I am thinking a 1x15 cabinet would really add some punch to this Hartke 7000 alongside the Carvin 4x10. Perhaps a Carvin 1x15, I am not sure they are any good, but a nice tweed Carvin 1x15 would look great with the 4x10 tweed. Anyways, that's it. If you all could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.
In summary: Looking for a good bass training course, and recommendations on a not to heavy cabinet to go with the 4x10 cabinet, (12-15-18, whaddayathink?)
