New Trace Elliot 1200 amp !

I mean, there’s nothing really groundbreaking about it, I just wasn’t expecting any signs of life from Peavey/Trace Elliot. I pretty much figured it was over for them. It doesn’t look like it’s going to fit on top of their current 1x10,2x8 cabs which either alone aren’t really rated for that kind of power. So maybe some new cabs ?

My Mk IV AH250 weighs four times as much as that thing and has a comparatively puny 250W. Mind you they are proper Trace Elliot watts, so still beastly loud.

Bummer for me that in spite of having almost every feature one could think of, there's no aux in or HPF :-( The rest of the feature set is great, and I especially love a decent onboard comp. I'm no engineer and I guess it wasn't feasible, but I would have preferred the look if they had preserved the vertical sliders, even if there had only been 4 of them.....sad to see that Trace keynote feature lost. In the end, it's nice to see another choice, and the more full featured comp and USB out look to be its' most distinguishing features as compared to the competition.

@agedhorse did a survey a year or so ago asking about whether we would like to see a graphic EQ on an amp or some other tone adjustment. If I remember correctly, the most popular option was having knobs with bass, low mid, high mid, treb or bass, treb and some mid freq selector. I'm not saying that survey impacted this design decision, but it seems like graphic EQ are not as in demand as they once were. But you're right. A graphic EQ would have certainly given it a classic Trace look.
