New Traynor YBA 100!!

Just got one in - I replaced my 30 watt Ashdown CTM30 with this and it is significantly quieter :( and less gain :( . With the gain and master on 10 there is just a hint of breakup - sounds clean but just maybe 15 watts out? I saw some folks complaining about it being a quiet amp but this is ridiculous. WTH could be wrong?
Sounds to me like something is wrong. My preamp started breaking up at around 2 o'clock and got real fizzy at 4. Could possibly be a preamp tube. I say that because it took 3 Mullard 12ax7s before I got one with acceptable gain. One or more of the stock JJs could be bad. If you have another preamp tube to change out, I would try that first.

Sorry to hear this, troubling. Cant imagine how this got shipped (you bought it new?). Mine gets lots of gain breakup and even plenty of clean volume right out of the box. Not a problem being heard at band practice.

Others have been commenting that they were unhappy with the output and I pushed back a little...but this...

You shouldnt have to, but get on the horn with Yorkville support.

I can probably bypass the preamp (to test if that is what is broken) by plugging into the "Amp In" jack - has anyone tried this with a passive bass?

This is a silly question, and no offense. But, is the impedance switch on the amp matched to your cabinet?

WTH is up with light gray font on their website! I don't want to strain my eyes to read the specs. I'm finding this more and more on various sites. I guess they are trying to save internet ink. Maybe I just woke up feeling bitchy or maybe they don't want me to buy their product :meh:
end of rant.

Thanks, Karen. Would you like to speak to the manager?

Well, as long as we are airing grievances...

I want the classic logo so that I can "modify" it to the classic "rayno".

And I want merch. I need two Traynor t-shirts:
The first with the Traynor winged logo,
The second with the classic "rayno" logo and a graphic of Pete throwing an amp off the roof.

Willing to pay up to C$30 per shirt in black. C$25 in white.

@GrapeBass can you make that happen?

I will commit to buying a "rayno" t-shirt here and now.

If I could I would. LMAO

You guys.

If you get one of the newer Traynor logos you can always cut off the T and r with a bandsaw.

For the shirts, I can provide graphics but you guys would have to find a source to get them printed onto T-shirts.

Jb

You have no pull with the higher ups? Put them online at the website for us to buy.

Show management this thread. We have commitments to 3 t-shirts already!

I’d buy a few of those shirts.

I would buy a shirt with something along the lines of "Keep Calm and Throw It Off the Roof - It's a rayno"

@GrapeBass

All kidding aside - there is clearly demand for a t-shirt. Please take it management. Either sell them online on the website or through L&M. My preference would be the winged logo.

As a conservative estimate, each L&M store would sell two each of medium, large, and extra large. With (my estimate) 150 stores that would be 900 shirts. A small test run of 200 shirts would easily sell out either online through the website or at select L&M/L&M webstore.

8 ohm cab, tried 8 ohm and 4 ohm settings. Another "clue" is I think the power dropped as I played it. The two "cold" lights were on when I looked so I tweaked the bias a bit but no joy.
I should check to see if it was somehow set to 240v?
BTW the LED light on this is stoopid bright, especially on standby - anyone "fixed" that yet?
I'll try bypassing the preamp on Saturday or Sunday to see if that helps me locate what tube(s) I should try replacing.
