New Valeton Dapper Indie

I saw a post from the global sales exec for Hotone and Valeton on Facebook advertising a new, soon to be released version of the 'dapper' series - The Indie.

From right to left (as I imagine the chain goes) you have 'Indie Drive' then 'Wall of Fuzz', followed by 'Liquid FX' (this has a 3-way to select Chorus, Phaser or Trem), then 'Echoes' delay (selectable Analog, Tape or Reverse) and finally 'Ambient' reverb (Room, Hall or Plate). Bass and treble controls each for the drive and fuzz sections.

The pedal also has a tuner, selectable by holding the on/off for the fuzz section.

For my purposes, this sounds like a much more useful selection than the effects offered with the Dapper Bass. I'll definitely be looking out for some reviews and videos of this one to consider whether it could make a decent home practice or fly-rig.

Sorry, personally I find the effects line up in the Bass Dapper more useful. I have no use for the delay or reverb modules in this new Indie unit.

That said, if Valeton gave us a Bass Dapper II with separate overdrive drive and amp sections, and maybe a useable fuzz, (Ditch octave 2, and replace it with a fuzz) I'd be all over it.

Not sure why you’re saying sorry - if a pedal’s not got what you’re after it’s never going to be the one for you!

As I said in the opening post, this potentially suits my purposes better as I do use delay and reverb. And OD. And Fuzz. And modulation. Would still want to take my Bass Whammy and Wah with me, mind you.

Both were great videos. Thank you. The first one is short but really creates interest because of the range of tones. I think it would be great for ambient guitar. These all-in-one boxes like the Fly Rigs are great because they are so darn efficient. They deliver a bunch of effects but can have limitations, however, that can be good sometimes. I can see this one being especially fun because of the density of the sounds and the effects.

But what does it sound like with different basses?

Thread from the dead!

So I’ve just had a quick go through headphones and I have to say it’s very impressive to me. I didn’t realise there was a headphones out the actual unit and it’s cab sim’d too. I also tried it out through my valve preamp pedal.
The distortion is Rat inspired I believe and I really like it; slight caveat is I’ve never owned a Rat but what I heard was a lovely drive. The fuzz is nice and we fuzzy. Modulation wise all seem fine, I especially liked the phaser. Delays all worked fine as did the tap tempo. And the Reverb’s were okay.
this unit has far surpassed my expectations.
