New VM Squier Cabronita liking it alot

Just had this bass for a day getting ready for it's gig tonight. So I have both squier and fender basses and I must say this bass is impressive. I never considered gigging my squier jazz but gig either my mim standard jazz or precision depending on the gig and usually record with my precision. Now that's out of the way the playability of the cabronita is great didn't need to shim the neck to get good action, frets were very even and you could level them according to a gauge but by so little as to be useless. The tone can go from very clean and a little bright to gritty. Although bass is pronounced it's well defined and clear. By scooping the mids and cutting bass on my amp I can get a decent slap tone. No it doesn't sound like a j bass or p bass but gets close enough to make me happy should I try close to either tone depending on the song. Played wide open tone wise amp flat I really dig the the sound. The fender demo is spot on. Now the downs you can see slight file marks where they rounded the neck edges and frets although still very smooth and not sharp. The paint is thinner than the mim fenders checked this out from the control cavity which is shielded with conductive paint. The pots are mini but this is not a big deal as far as sound and control goes on this bass. The pick guard seems to be vinyl and is not beveled giving a cheap appearance. Finally the neck is listed a modern c but is more towards the c shape on mine which I prefer anyway But playability and tone is great making it my favorite bass out of my small collection and I don't normally like humbuckers. Gig with a squier I don't see why not. My biggest gripe is the color, wish they had sunburst or car. The finish is smooth and the hardware decent. Just the usual string change makes this bass sing. Don't know if this is the same fideletron as the fender version but the body is different as it has a body relief on the back so it's not a slab with only the arm relief.
