My wife is absolutely going to want this. I'm a fan of his band, but don't think I could rock a gig with the bat logo.

Let it begin.....

I like the colors but I'm not into signature instruments if they have logos or graphics on them. Besides, I'm one of those who don't like FOB too much... But the colors are nice. I could imagine myself playing one of those without that stupid graphic and logo.

So they changed the pickguard and bat color to purple and calling it a new sig bass? For shame Fender, for shame...

Off topic: They need to make a Squier Steve Harris bass. The current Steve Harris sig model is dumb expensive

Steve Harris Squire!! That would be awesome. Again i really dislike P Basses, but that would definitely be one i would try out! Steve is awesome, and I think that would be a great move by Fender. Put his custom strings on it, wouldn't be a bad idea IMO

Here's my take on signature instruments of any kind: If you can't name at least three major specifications that make your signature instrument both uniquely yours and uncommon to any of that manufacturer's other designs, then you didn't deserve it.

Colors don't count. Finishes count only if they contribute significantly to the playability. And it's not good enough to say, "Well, the neck on mine's different." I want numbers, specs, and specific reasons why you wanted 'em.

Fender's Roscoe Beck was a great example. I like FOB, but I suspect Petey has to have his strings changed for him.

Holy Cow Droppings.......IMO, basses are to be heard not seen....that thang is vampirish.:rollno::eyebrow::hiding:

Can we get some intelligence on the subject?

Is it fender or squier?

Same specs as the squier? as in jazz neck

I dont like FOB but i wont bash em, at 19 and in collegeif pete wentz died and FOB asked me to play bass for them i would drop out and do it in a heartbeat. he is living the dream

Troll? Not so much; Wentz as troll bait is like shooting oxygen deprived quails. It's not like I'm professing that his new bass is better than a Lakland or that he's better than Geddy Lee. THAT would be trolling.

NOTE: The following is the obligatory Wentz disclaimer that one way or another comes up in every thread about him, presented here in the form of a run on sentence....move along if you've read it before...

Wentz isn't Paul McCartney and his band isn't the next Beatles, but his band sells a lot of records doing what they love and his bass playing is perfect for the band, most people who dog them haven't even heard them and that's fine because there's always going to be old people that don't get it, yada yada, etc., Ad nauseam.

I've heard them, they got some good songs like Thx for the memories but the bass sucks on every track. Saw live footage, sucks there too. So, my conclusion is that he is a pretty horrible player. Have you looked at his technique ffs?

Oh, and btw, adding a latin expression won't add weight to your argument. :hmm:

i will stand up, i do like FOB.
pete as a bassist, yeah he is sloppy and not technical.
most bass players in that genre are the same. (i said most, not all)
its not fair to pick apart him because he is no jaco, getty, or (insert name here).
you cant compare apples to oranges.

and in reality, he is not famous for playing bass.
he publishes everything too much wither it is for charity or a clothing line.

my 2 cents....

i also kind of like this bass, excited to learn more about it.

Man, for the most part Fender sigs are recreations of UNIQUE INSTRUMENTS wielded by GREAT MUSICIANS. Clearly someone at Fender had a severe brain lapse, giving this joke of a bassist a joke of a signature bass

Fender, what can i say:scowl:

FENDER IS A BUSINESS

That means there looking to make money, there are so many awesome bassists out ther ethat have no fame. Pete is famous thus they can make money.

I think its funny when people say 'whats wrong with fender" its a huge company , that will follow whatever craze to make money.

I own a fender , not bad mouthing them its just marketing.

btw whats wrong with skinny jeans? better than wearing some baggy looking pants that look like you took a dump in them.
