I love my little wiener, she's my lap dog, along with my beagle. Mine was also adopted, from a family who had her from eight weeks old and decided after a week that it wasn't going to work. I don't really blame them at all, since they had a new baby in the house.

After I got her, I spent a month telling a couple co-workers that I was going outside after I got home to play with my wiener, but neglecting to tell them that I got a dog. The funny thing is that they never even asked.

I'm sitting here reading this with my recently adopted miniature Dachshund, Pepper, hanging on my lap... After my longtime buddy Blue (see avatar) passed in early June, we waited 3 months, then this little girl showed up at the local shelter... Like the saying goes, "You're the best thing that ever happened to your adopted pet!!"

If you ask me, Nico is looking pretty content!! Congrats!!

Dude, that's awesome. I'm considering adopting a dog when I get back to Tx. I'm sure mom and dad wouldn't mind a Dachsund, because otherwise I want a boxer.

My German Shepard loves me but goes absolutely nuts over my girlfriend and oldest daughter . She likes most males but acts suspicious of them at first.

When she's a bad girl she goes and stands behind the nearest female as a shield...
