Next new pedal: the Pity Phuk. For when musicians feel sad about breaking up with the Phat Phuk.
Bad idea with the trim pots. Even the Dark Driving now comes with the controls on the outside. Too cumbersome to use live. Different basses, amps, cabs and rooms to compensate for. I bet it will sound good but poor execution on W&C's part.
Give it a year and these will have external knobs.
I have the single knob version and had the three knob version of the Dark Driving and I find the single knob sounds just that much better and utilises less space. It sounds amazing with every amp I play as it reacts to how I play.
I had both versions of the DD and they sounded the same to me. They were also the same size.
Well I don't know what it was but I could never replicate the same tone from the single knob to the three knob and worse was the fact I was constantly wanting to find other amazing tones. Having just a volume meant all I would do is stomp.
And that worked just fine for me, until i switched basses and the pedal reacted and sounded completely different.
