New Yorkers...Sin-E?

my band just got word that we'll be playing at Sin-E in New York in July. Have any of you NY TB'ers played at this venue or know anything about it?

This will be my first time in NY and we are playing on a Saturday night.

Any insider info on this place would be appreciated. :)

Thanks

It's a decent LES venue, on the level of Pianos and a better place to play than Arlene's or Rothko. The music tends towards ironic and dour indie acts du jour, but the place books artists who are often on the brink of fame. As usual, don't expect the audience to dance. Or move.

Bring a flashlight for setup, because the lighting here ranges from very poor to pitch black.

+1... It's a bar with a stage.

thank for the response. whats an LES venue?

i'm not familiar with the other venues you mentioned. i have never been to NY.

i'll be sure to pack some flashlights. :)

I thought that may end up being a problem, LES=Lower East Side (Eastish of broadway below St. Mark's). I had to think about it for a second too, and I live in NY. I've never been to Arlene's Grocery but my friends have played it and said it was cool. I've never played SinE but i've been there. like I said, it's a bar with a stage.

this is all good info to know. we are very used to people just standing and watching us, we arent a high energy rock band. :) i guess all those murder ballads just kill the mood for dancing. :)
