newbe amp suggestion

I just got a bass as a present from my son in law. Now I guess I need an amp. I am debating between an Ampeg PF800 and an SVT4PRO difference in price is about 150$
I am getting a PF115HE cab...
Which one to choose ?

The Ampeg PF800 is MUCH lighter and has fewer knobs. For someone new to bass world, The PF800 is wonderful place to start. Weighs 12 lbs.

The 4PRO is a good choice too, however it is more complex, has more knobs, and if you don't put in enough time to fully understand it, you will likely be overwhelmed. Weighs 40lbs.

Get the PF800 and have fun! For the cabinet, have you tried it out yet? If not, why are you looking at that one? Is it used?

Yep, used cab, good deal. THere was also an SWR goliath 4X10 at the same price. But since I am going to be using this mostly on Jazz, I leaned towards the 115 ...
