Newbie buy a 6 string?

I'm a little sketched out about buying a 6 string there's a really nice one at a store near me, i believe it's a Ibanez BTB and only being sold for like 300 dollars (could be wrong) but is missing a couple of strings which is no big deal. and since I've only been playing for 4-5 months I diddnt want to look like a prick with a 6 string. I mean, when I see a guy with an 8 string guitar I expect them to be like After the Burial (probably not a good assumption but I'm sure I'm not the only one) and When i see all the pros and cons of having a 6 string, it seems like it would be a good idea. less positions when playing, better range and I love having wide ass neckboards. When I'm playing my 4 string I have to use my fingers sideways because I have to crunch up my fingers

No.

Just buy it and don't over think it. I worried about it when I first started so I just got a 5 string Ibanez. Less than a year later I got my first 6er and in hindsight I should have just waited a little longer to get that. Nowadays I'm at my most comfortable overall playing 6ers. Just wish I could get more!

If you are afraid of how you would look,
you could be a closet 6 stringer. lol

If you like it, get it. I don't think you will
be stepping over any prohibited boundaries
here. It shouldn't be much harder to learn,
