News on Chunk Systems Bass Synth

Why do you think keyboard synths now have pitch wheels, modulation wheels, expression pedal inputs, etc. as standard? Because they're a great idea.

I've already got my pitch wheel. :bassist:

thanks man. i'm looking foward to hearing TB user clips from the first batch.

Will do. I'm not sure I'll be first, but I'll definitely post clips as soon as mine arrives.

The accuracy - and speed - of the tracking will be the main thing I'm interested in. Most bass parts are percussive in nature, and even a small amount of 'slop' will make it (IMHO) unusable (unless you use the 'wet' signal only, in which case it might be possible to compensate for signal-analysis delays by playing ahead of the beat).

Still, I've got my doubts - say it takes 5 cycles @ 41Hz to track accurately, that's a tenth of a second. Add in a little bit more time to take the pitch, work out an octave up down, produce the signal and do extra processing, and that could well make a noticable difference compared to the start point of the 'source' note.
