Providing it lives up to the hype, I'll be buying one new later in the year.

Yeah, six bills is a pretty high barrier for prospective "early adopters" to jump over.

my other concern is the price dropping after it being out for a few months..

Think of the patches we can share, and sounds we will make...

$600 is going to be tough to squeeze out, but should show it's merit.

Why do you think keyboard synths now have pitch wheels, modulation wheels, expression pedal inputs, etc. as standard? Because they're a great idea.

Cool stuff. I've never used a PS-3, would like to get my hands on one at some point.

FTR I've got a filter cut-off pedal (plugged into my Meatwad) but no pitch bend. Unless I'm playing my fretless.

The accuracy - and speed - of the tracking will be the main thing I'm interested in. Most bass parts are percussive in nature, and even a small amount of 'slop' will make it (IMHO) unusable (unless you use the 'wet' signal only, in which case it might be possible to compensate for signal-analysis delays by playing ahead of the beat).

Still, I've got my doubts - say it takes 5 cycles @ 41Hz to track accurately, that's a tenth of a second. Add in a little bit more time to take the pitch, work out an octave up down, produce the signal and do extra processing, and that could well make a noticable difference compared to the start point of the 'source' note.
