NFL 2017 Week #9

Incognito: Thursday games 'completely unfair'

Now I have issues with Thursday night games, but this bullying meathead is not the guy you want taking the lead on this. And it certainly looks whiny when it comes after a loss.

Ya. He even gave the interviewer a wedgie and then stole his lunch money. The guy was too ashamed to write that part in.

The Saints look to be back. Where's @Gard ?
That punt block TD was awesome, as was the Kamara catch and run.
Fighting the NFL. Such a shame. Guys so worried these days about being disrespected.
But Mike Evans though, time for that fool to sit out a game or two. How in the world was he not ejected for that?

It's almost as if they think they're hockey players or something.:D

I agree, though: Suspend Evans, fine Winston for his childish provocation that set things off, suspend AJ Green, and fine the guy who pushed him.

Still impressed with Adrian Peterson. Sure, it was against the (now 0-9) 49ers. But the 'old man' still got what it takes on the field.

I scoffed when the trade went down, but I am big enough to admit I was wrong. Without him, the Cards may not have won another game. Now, they have a great chance of finishing at or near .500!

Don't understand the Saints not using AP, and now he looks youthful in AZ

I have Never been a True Believer in Eli Manning.
Happy as Larry that he has a pair of SB rings, (after all, they’ve always been my guys, and they always will be) but I’ve never perceived of him as a ‘team leader QB’...maybe it’s his propensity for sharing the stink eye every freakin’ time he throws an incomplete pass, (and That habit goes back to his rookie year.)
I’ve been wishing they would trade him while they could get something back for him for 3 or 4 years...but it’s too late for that now.

The Niners Run D is no joke. All Day was fun to watch.

The Titans eked one out. Whenever I see a prevent Defense I cringe. Just do what you've been doing to 90% of the game for crisakes! I'm still enamored with Adoree. The kid is just so much fun to watch and is quite the weapon for the Titans. He has two helpings of fire down below in that frame.

The Iggles with Ajayi = Winter ( play-off ) run is covered. Being able to run the ball in adverse conditions is nearly a must and they now have that ability in spades. Such a smart pick-up for them. Jay seemed to fit right in.

Goff is Goof no more. Man that kid can throw.

Did The New York Football Giants have a bye? :rollno:

There are still at least two Cowboys-Eagles games ahead. Philadelphia will be coming off a bye week, a game which they usually seem to have lost in the recent past. Dallas might be without Elliott. This should be interesting.

Dez is getting dinged up a lot in recent years. His time as a #1 is fast coming to an end. Witten is a shell of himself. Their window seems to be closing. Week to week they seem a patchwork team of late.

Philly looks scary. Raiders eek one out tonight and appear to have no chance against real competition.
You could substitute "Raiders" for "Seahawks" and make the same statement. The Seahawks played an epic bad game with a short bit of exception. It didn't matter. The Legion of Boom may have reached its sell-by date. I would like to see those guys retire gracefully rather than hold on and turn into shells of themselves. They won't retire, though. It's not how the mind of a competitive person who isn't even 30 years old works.

seeing local press noting it was Wilson who failed (due to a bad, off-rhythm day) in the loss to Wash, but I don't recall Wilson miss kicking those FG attempts or getting called for the endless penalties ;)

I think @Gaolee is on to something with the secondary.
A couple guys got paid, one seriously injured, and Sherman just isn't playing to match his mouth anymore.

I don't think they are underachieving because they got paydays. They are in their late 20s. A quarter step is all it takes in the NFL, and by the time you are 30, there's that quarter step that separates the absolute elite from the rest. Sherman was the elite, and there's no doubt he's still very good. But, he's not elite any more and the Seahawks need Thomas back there playing center field to cover well. Thomas doesn't seem to have lost a step up to his injury, but with a hamstring injury, he may lose it now. That all means the Seahawk window for championships without a major overhaul may be closing pretty fast now.

I do.
It's not unique to Seattle or any team. Guys are hungry, want to get paid since they tie respect into their payday.
Give a guy a few million bucks up front, make him the highest this or that in the NFL, and for quite a few guys the edge comes off.
They still play hard, they're still good players, but they aren't the same player they were when they had more to prove.
Coincidentally they are aging as well along the way, so we're both right.

Should have ended that with "just kidding".

Wow they got embarrassed.

Yep, that was horrible. Either Philly is that good, or Denver is really that dysfunctional. Maybe a little of both.

The first four-game losing skid for Denver since Elway took over the front office. He's got to be pulling his hair out right about now. I guess it's a good thing Papa Bowlen is sheltered from this mess. He would be going ballistic too.

I stopped blaming the players a couple of games ago. Mike McCoy and the coaching staff are not prepping these boys to compete. Plenty of talent on the Denver roster.
