NFL 2017 Week #9

The good news for Denver is that they've got the Patriots next, who still on paper have an awful defense, are pretty well battered and dinged-up, and historically have trouble winning at mile-high. I think the Bronco defense has too much pride and an intense dislike for the Patriots to let them off easy next week. Wouldn't be surprised to see a close game or upset by Denver.

I agree. I do think people forget how much the Pats run too which tends to give inflated qbr ratings ( fully admitting Mariota is in this group ). The "system" lends itself to high % throws primarily. Brady does that plus so much more within that "system" so not trying to diminish him in any way.

Philly looks scary. Raiders eek one out tonight and appear to have no chance against real competition.

Ya. Can the AFC suck enough for the Raiders to sneak into the wild card round? It's gonna take a little luck, because if things are ci.pletely merit-based, then, no, the Raiders do not belong in the pre-season. We also have to play the Patriots and another round with KC, so, things aren't getting easier. I predicted a 5-2 start, but a couple of picks go down and the team plays like they just met each other a week ago, and you get this level of under-performance.

Lynch wasn't the answer. Lots of drops all around, and Cooper absolutely vanished into the witness protection program. Secondary giving up more than last year. Mack is playing well but not putting up the numbers, which is unfoerunate, but he isn't playing poorly at all.

And I think I underestimated our schedule. I didn't see the Eagles being so good. And I knew KC would roll out strong, but I couldn t predict Hunt. Denver was actually tough the first time we played them, but perhaps the second game will be a bit different. Anyway, is it too early to call this a high draft pick year? It doesn't feel too early. In fact, it feels like the bad old days... Just more talent now. Play on!

I like KC to win the AFC west easily. They're pretty darn good.

Denver looks like a fire searching for a dumpster to live in. The finger-pointing ranges all the way from the QBs to the head coach, and there are plenty of hot seats to go around. Some of them are big enough for Elway, who has yet to draft a QB that the team can develop. Their success at that position has come from free agents. Clearly the O-line has been taking revolving door lessons, and the defense seemed to pack it in during the Eagles game.

The Eagles are impressive, and Wentz is hotter than anyone this year.

But don't count the Patsies out, injuries or not. I don't think Denver has a real chance against them. I expect the Pats to stomp Demver.

It's all lining up for the Raiders.
Still my pick in the AFC.

As of this Nov. 2013 article, 6 teams had started 3-5 and made the playoffs since the current format began in 1990. None made it past the divisional round. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Packers in freefall. Hundley isn't the answer. McCarthy is stuck having to stick up for him, but Hundley's 0-3 now and not worthy of any traidbait or anything. Besides trade deadline is passed, but you had to give him a solid look. His numbers are decent, he just doesn't have play making ability. You can't build a team around 1 guy. That's pretty evident. Rodgers makes average guys look like stars, and that goes for defensive players, too. Not looking good on Ted Thompson, McCarthy and Capers right now. The defense is a sieve and can't get off the field on 3rd down.

The Saints look to be back. Where's @Gard ?
That punt block TD was awesome, as was the Kamara catch and run.
Fighting the NFL. Such a shame. Guys so worried these days about being disrespected.
But Mike Evans though, time for that fool to sit out a game or two. How in the world was he not ejected for that?

Oh, I'm around...

...things is pretty busy in my life right now, lots of changes, but yeah, I'm having fun this season, to be sure. I am beginning to think there's a chance we might get a repeat of my avatar photo soon. ;)

As for the Adrian Peterson experiment, why would my team want to keep an aging out RB when they have a 1-2 punch like Ingram & Kamara? And....well, over the past 7 weeks, the #1 defense in the NFL as well....it's like upside-down land for Saints fans...we have a DEFENSE?!?!?
